Weekly Updates - Guidance - June 27, 2025

A Message from the Guidance Office

The Guidance Department would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of our students on their success this year. We wish our families a restful summer, and look forward to seeing you in September. And to our graduates, we are so proud of your accomplishments and wish you all the best in the next phase of your journey.

Graduation Packages

Graduation packages, containing diplomas, transcripts and awards/certificates, will be distributed at the graduation ceremony on June 26th. Graduates who do not attend the ceremony may pick up their graduation packages from the Guidance office on Friday, June 27th. During the summer, if you wish to pick up your graduation package, please contact the main office to arrange for a pick up time.

Summer School

Students who did not successfully earn a credit during semester 2 have received a phone call from their classroom teacher. We encourage students to consider how this unsuccessful credit may impact the 2025-2026 school year (For example, if a student does not pass Gr. 10 math, they need to complete this credit before they can take Gr. 11 math next year). Summer school is an excellent opportunity to earn a missed credit in preparation for next year. There are several summer school options:

Acceleration - For students who wish to retake the entire course, or for students who wish to attempt a new course for the first time. Note that there are no Gr. 9 Acceleration courses.

Reinforcement - For students who did not pass a course but were recommended by their teacher for credit recovery (note: this is a two week course, and students will need to select if they wish to attend session 1 or session 2 (first half or second half of July)

Strengthening - For students who have successfully earned a credit but wish to earn a higher mark.

Please note that students who failed a grade 9 course, but were NOT approved for credit recovery…the TCDSB has an option for registering for Gr. 9 Acceleration courses

We wish you all the best for a safe, healthy and restful summer!
