History Department

Welcome to the Milliken Mills Department of History & Contemporary Studies, which offers courses on Canadian & World History, Philosophy, Law, Economics, and World Religions.

Courses in our department are designed to provide students with both solid background knowledge of significant events in history and the skills needed to analyse and interpret current events.  We focus on skill development needed for success in high school and beyond, while fostering an appreciation of history and world events.  In our mission to reach all students, classes incorporate a variety of teaching methods and tools, including role-play, simulations, mock trials, written essays and oral presentations to help develop effective written and oral communication skills, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
